- 19 July 2026 – We have just added text to our most recent post on The Boyds of Ballycastle (Part 1) – Rev William Boyd and Rose McNeale. It concerns the discovery of an image of a deed dating to 1 September 1686 between the Earl of Antrim and Hugh McNeale of Clare Castle. It is a document of considerable importance as it documents Hugh McNeale surrendering his claim to the village and castle of Ballycastle to the Earl in return for which the Earl gives him the house and lands of Dunaneeny and the custom of the fairs and markets of Ballycastle.
- 27 July 2026 – Added text and footnote to ‘The Boyds of Ballycastle (Part 1) – Rev William Boyd and Rose McNeale’. The McNeale family copy of the 1611 deed was almost certainly seen by George Hill and mentioned in his 1860 article ‘Gleanings in Family History from the Antrim Coast: The MacNaghtens and MacNeills’ for the Ulster Journal of Archaeology.
