Old Derrykeighan Parish Church, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland

Over the coming weeks and months we will be adding content which details the multiple connections discovered over the course of six years of research originating in Scotland through Ireland and beyond to England, France, the West Indies, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and India.

The image above is of old Derrykeighan Parish Church in Co Antrim, Northern Ireland. It has very much been a backdrop to our research and accordingly we have framed the theme of our Blog around it.

What began as a typical genealogical investigation into a family named Boyd residing in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland has now amassed over 7,500 individuals spanning over six centuries and relating some of the key events in history over that time.

We have tried to stick where possible to primary sources at the core of our research and when unable to do so we will document other sources and present any theories on likely familial connections.

Our research of course has benefited from the efforts of many historians and individuals who have sadly left us and thankfully those who continue to extend our knowledge of people and history. We are grateful for the work of all of these people and would like to acknowledge their efforts and achievements without which our research and this blog would not have been possible.
